History of LEICHT
The company’s roots are in the "Mechanical Workshop for Furniture & Fittings", founded by the LEICHT brothers Alois & Josef Leicht in 1928 in their home town Schwäbisch Gmünd, southern Germany. What started out as a workshop has grown into an enterprise which is down-to-earth but at the same time pioneering when it comes to sophisticated modern kitchen architecture "Made in Germany".
The long established kitchen manufacturer, has become a successful international architectural brand. LEICHT is one of the top 10 companies of the German kitchen industry. LEICHT is 97 years now & is present in more than 55 countries worldwide.
In a survey carried out in 2016 by market research institute GfK, LEICHT was cited as the "best sold premium brand in Germany" & in 2015 was the only manufacturer of kitchens to be awarded the accolade "the most innovative brand of the year", the greatest distinction of the Plus X Award. A milestone in the company’s history was the opening of the LEICHT | WELT in October 2014, a kitchen exhibition area.
